Have you ever gazed at the sky in a secluded area devoid of obtrusive light and been fascinated by the pervasive stars? Do you want to find our more about Astronomy and how the Universe works?
In this month’s Mensa Soapbox Event, we have invited some experienced astronomers from The Astronomical Society Of Singapore (TASOS) to deliver a presentation on Astronomy. The presentation will introduce us to the ever-mesmerising cosmos and tell us more about Astronomy and the Universe in an introductory level. Join us in this month’s Mensa Soapbox Event to discover more about the Universe!
TASOS was established in 1991 with a group of amateur astronomers. Over the past 17 years, TASOS has grown into hundreds of experienced astronomers who will regularly organise Astronomical activities such as stargazing in relatively dark areas such as Pulau Semakau. TASOS also works with internationally renowned professionals and organisations such as the International Astronomical Union and Dr Guillermo Gonzalez, Associate Professor of Astronomy at the Iowa University, USA. Therefore, this presentation will provide us a contemporary insight into the intriguing mechanism of the Universe. Thus, come join us in June’s Mensa Soapbox!
