Are you a fan of puzzles and riddles? Think you can solve almost anything and bring victory to your team? We invite you to participate in the Real Escape Game – where you put your wits and teamwork to the test!

The purpose of the game is easy – you have to find a way out of a locked room or location by solving numerous puzzles and riddles. The catch is that you have to find your escape within a limited amount of time.

Can you work well with the other people in your group to find the exit? Solve the mysteries in the room and you can escape and emerge winners – fail and the stories will lie locked in that room forever.

A group of Mensans attempted the first Real Escape Game in Singapore but most of us failed to escape.

The second game Escape from the Werewolf Village promises to be tougher and will be held in May 2012. You can be sure we will be back for revenge! You can go alone or if you like, join us at the Mensa facebook page to form our Mensa groups!

History of the Real Escape Game

The Real Escape Game was first played in Tokyo in 2007, and since then, more than 100,000 participants have played in multiple cities across Japan, China, Taiwan, United States and Singapore. Over 2,300 sessions have been staged to-date with as many as 1,000 participants taking part simultaneously. The Game was recently played by several hundred participants at massive arena venues including the Tokyo Dome and the city’s Jingu Baseball Stadium. This upcoming Singapore session at *SCAPE Warehouse will be the second time “The Real Escape Game,” has been played in Singapore.

The first Real Escape Game in Singapore was held earlier this year from 27-29th January, at Chijmes Hall, titled “Escape from the Mysterious Cathedral”. Around 800 players, mainly young working adults, from all walks of life came to experience the thrill of solving the puzzles in teams and breaking free. A total of 30 teams managed to escape, with the fastest team breaking out in around 40 minutes. The game has drawn enthusiastic response from various players.

“It was great, puzzles were challenging but not impossible to solve. The friendly crew made it an amazing experience. Thank you for bringing the Real Escape Game to Singapore.”
~ Gang Neuyen, Student, 21

The Real Escape Game is the brainchild of Mr. Takao Kato, founder of the Kyoto-based publishing company, SCRAP. The concept was born out of a conversation with a girl who was hooked on online “Escape the Room” games. Kato added on a strong narrative element to the challenges, explaining that “as a kid, I always wanted to ‘live in the story’, survive the adventure, solve the mystery, and be a hero like the characters in books I loved as a child. The Real Escape Game is an opportunity to make these dreams come true”.

The Real Escape Game is often staged in eclectic settings ranging from small theatres to large sporting arenas to cathedrals. Come meet new friends and try out the latest live game phenomenon from Japan with this fun event happening at the *SCAPE Warehouse this May!

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition

Step on board RMS Titanic for the first time in Southeast Asia, and experience the majestic and dramatic maiden voyage of the iconic Ship almost 100 years after it set sail in 1912. The Exhibition takes visitors through the Ship’s conception, construction, sailing day, life on board, the famous iceberg, Titanic’s sinking, the discovery of the wreck, while all throughout telling the incredible stories of her passengers and crew.

With a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger onboard the Titanic, embark on the journey through about 275 authentic artifacts – of which 14 have never been seen before – such as china etched with the logo of the elite White Star Line, sheet music and jewelry items, and extensive re-creations of the First and Third Class Cabins, the Grand Staircase, Boiler Room and other locations on Titanic. Finally, find out how the sinking of the great Ship strongly resonated in Singapore at the “Singapore 1912” gallery.

Are you a jigsaw puzzle fan?

Mensans are usually not satisfied by the ordinary, so we have taken the conventional jigsaw and upped the difficulty factor by making it double-sided.

Yes, you have heard it right. A double-sided jigsaw puzzle to challenge your mind!

To top it off, we have two designs available for you to choose from.

The 336 piece, 12″ x 18″ puzzles have images of the Singapore skyline photographed by our own President, Patrick.

The first design has a 10 year old night skyline on one side and the present night skyline on the other, both from slightly different vantage points. The second, and easier one has a day and night view of the same skyline.

So are you up to the challenge? (click on the picture below to enlarge)
